Power is also a major theme in literature; a mortal wants power over another person or rase a group of people. Ken Kesey begins his novel by showing the protagonist Randle McMurphy arriving at an Oregon mental knowledgeableness in a police car, this shows that McMurphy is already suppressed and intimately likely not enjoying it. Randle McMurphy is the patient at the Oregon institution that most rebels against Nurse Ratchet who in turn continuously tries to keep him in line as much as she can. McMurphy gambles a lot, leads a run-away mission to go boating, and in the end sneaks in girls to throw a party in the hospital.
