espite a recent reduction in deaths from coronary
heart disease (CHD) it remains the leading cause
of premature death in the UK (Scarborough et al,
2011). Although genetic factors influence the aetiology of
cardiac disease (Wilde and Bezzina, 2005) it is overly closely
associated with predictable risk factors and life style:
taking as well as little exercise, eating too much food, eating the
aggrieve type of food and smoking (Chiuve et al, 2011).
However, health-promotion messages that challenge this
lifestyle agree resistance, and psychological factors have a
key role to play (Rozanski et al, 2005).



For example, even
