Napoleon returned to power in 1815 and many states that opposed him formed the one-seventh Coalition (Prussia, UK, United Netherlands, Hanover, Nassau, Brunswick) and mobilized armies. Two large forces under jackboot (UK) and von Blücher (Prussia) assembled close to the northeastern b articulate of France. Napoleon chose to attack these armies in fear that they would lead an invasion of France with other members of the Coalition. Napoleon however, wanted to wait for the ground to dry because he didnt interchangeable fighting on muddy ground. While Napoleon was time lag for the night of June 18, the British invaded through his left flank so causing his troops to scatter throughout the battlefield.
The Prussian forces then counter-attacked and fought off whatever French troops remained on the battlefield, carried on and restored Louis XVIII to the throne. Napoleon surrendered to the British and was exiled to Saint capital of Montana (Island in the Atlantic between Africa and South America) where he ultimately died in 1821.
This massive mistake and miscalculation was unlike Napoleon who usually thought out his attacks thoroughly in pass and carried them through ruthlessly. In war there is no time to waste, Napoleon found this out the hard way and as a result this cost him his life.
